Founded in 1922 as WCAH, new ownership changed the call letters to WBNS in 1929. The same ownership company and call letters are still going today although the stations affiliation is now with ESPN Radio. WBNS is also one of the few remaining stations using a distinctive diamond-shaped Blaw-Knox tower to transmit its signal.

The great Faded Signals blog has another entry on WBNS that can be seen at the following link.
