By the 1970s, most Holiday Inn locations had given up on doing anything original with their postcards or any other promotional material. This is a beautiful exception featuring not only an amazing sky but also a very unusual-looking building with a barn-like entrance and "The Great Sign" in the corner with extra colors surrounding the star. I’m guessing whoever owned this particular Holiday Inn either had the extra money or thought it was worth the expense since it served not only the Amana Colonies tourist destination but also the once-mighty Amana Corporation.
